JACK                                                                                                                                      JAN

Our journey into the miniature world began in 1986 when we stopped at a miniature shop, "just for a few minutes" and stayed the whole day! We were completely fascinated by what we saw. Not to long after our first visit, we bought a dollhouse to share
as a hobby together.

Over the years, our dream of owning our own miniature business and doing shows had to be postponed since we both worked full-time. When Jack retired, our dream became a reality! That’s when Uncle Ciggie’s Miniatures was established and we participated in our first show as dealers.

Uncle Ciggie’s cartoon character was developed by Jack in the mid 1980’s and was best known for his logical, illogical philosophy. In other words, you were always entitled to his opinion! Uncle Ciggie gave our children (and friends) lots of chuckles and occasional frowns, so when we were searching for a name for our business, our children unanimously voted for Uncle Ciggie’s Miniatures.

Jack studied Art at Bowling Green State University in Ohio and the Cleveland Institute of Art. Jan has a degree in Nursing.

Jan is the administrator (that means she does the paper work) and the idea person. Jack does the designs and prototype building, but we both share in the process of building virtually everything we make. Each item involves handcrafting to some degree if not in its entirety.

We specialize in handcrafted Wicker Furniture, Ferns & Miscellaneous accessories, and Planters.   Some of our wicker pieces are antique reproductions that some of you might have seen in your grandmother’s home.   Also, we recently added half-inch scale.

It is our sincerest hope that you will enjoy your visit to our web site and stop by frequently to see what's new.
Please check our show schedule  to see where we will be next.
